Not even a logo or a lousy name, because if they as much as announce anything related to it, its a lose-lose situation for them. When it comes to a project as huge as D4 (if it is one of the "multiple" projects being developed) they can't commit to making an announcement. So I'm not sure that reading into things is the smartest course of action.ĭI was nowhere near ready and yet they announced it because they aren't the people working on it and it seems like they have little to almost none existent control over that game. I get that you are trying to be positive, but that's the same attitude that got us all worked up for blizzcon.
They have shifted from making games with depth and intrigue to glorified skinner boxes with fireworks and a laser light show, and unless Blizzard shows that they want to turn around from this, I don't think I'm interested in any more games from them. Blizzard has been dumbing down their games for the better part of a decade to pander to the least common denominator, to the point that their game systems are as interesting as Michael Bay movies are intelligent. If D4 follows in the footsteps of D3 and D:I, I don't think want to play it. Sure this year would have been great, and almost nothing would be able to cause the same outrage we saw this year, but if D4 continues Blizzard's pattern of plucking out any system that takes a third grader with ADHD more than 30 seconds to understand, then there are a whole lot of fans that are going to feel marginalized. There are far more issues at Blizz than the announcement situation. I see where you are coming from, and while a D4 announcement alongside D:I would have prevented this fiasco, I think there are many players that would not have necessarily have been happy, given enough time to get information about D4.
